Remove the bearings carefully, wipe away loose dirt and use a suitable bearing-cleaning method. Avoid soaking bearings in water and never reinstall them while damp.
Clean, dry and relubricate
After cleaning, allow the bearings to dry fully. Add only a small amount of skate-safe lubricant, then spin the bearing by hand to distribute it.
Know when to stop
If a bearing remains rough, cracked, rusty or noisy after cleaning, replacement is usually the better option.
